Funeral services for Fred A. Rossman, 75, of 1604
Lynn Ave., Altoona, were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Golden
Funeral Home. The Rev. James E. Noonan, O. M. I. conducted
the services. Mr. Rossman died very suddenly Wednesday, April
13.
Mr.
Rossman, formerly a jeweler in the Fleming Bros. Store at Altoona,
was a veteran of World War I. He served as a lieutenant in
the 32nd Division and was a member of Johnson-Nocoles
Post No. 53, which conducted the military service at the
graveside. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Rossman of Neillsville. His father was Neillsville’s
Chief of Police at one time.
He
is survived by his wife, Sadie; one daughter, Mrs. Daniel Francis,
Eau Claire; one son, Russell Begley, Eau Claire; three brothers
Floyd, Neillsville; Donald and Oscar, Austin, Minn.; three sisters,
Mrs. E. B. Damon, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. William Shumway, Pittsville;
Mrs. Melvin Nelson, Orfordville; nine grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
A general rosary service was held Friday evening at the funeral home.
