Conroy, Joan Ann (Marriage - 16 April
1955)
Miss Joan Ann Conroy chose Satruday April 16 as
the date for her marriage to Karl A. Peterson. The double ring
ceremony was performed by the Rev. Michael J. Conroy, uncle of the
bride, at 9:00 a.m. in the Our Lady of Grace R. C. Church in
Pittsburgh, Pa., before an altar decorated with white and peach
gladioli.
The
parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. John M. Conroy of 1104
Virginia Ave., Pittsburgh, Pa., and Mr. and Mrs. Arne O. Peterson
of 204 E. Fifth St. Neillsville.
The
bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white taffeta dress
with a chapel train. Her finer-tip veil was fastened to a
tiara. White roses and violets made up her
bouquet.
Deloris Conroy attended her sister as maid of
honor. Bridesmaids were Margaret Peterson, sister of the
groom, Marilyn Conroy and Marlyon Hainish.
John R. Peterson of Beloit attended the groom as
best man. Ushers were Donald Braegge, St. Louis, Mo.; Erik
Pedderson, Luck, Wis., and Edward Conroy of Pittsburgh,
Pa.
Approximately 250 guests attended the wedding
reception held at the Penn Lincoln Hotel in
Pittsburgh.
After a wedding trip to Washington, D. C., Mr.
and Mrs. Peterson will make their home in Norfolk, Va., where the
groom is stationed with the U. S. Navy.
Out of town folks attending the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Arne Peterson, parents of the groom, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. John Peterson of Beloit; Miss Margaret Peterson of Tomah.
