Ratsch, Fred C. (22 March 1889 - 21 May
1955)
Fred C. Ratsch, age 66, of 1902 N. Johnson St.,
Neillsville, died May 21, 1955, at 9:45 a.m. following a heart
attack which he suffered a few hours earlier.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 24, from
St. John’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. Alfred Schewe
officiated. Interment was in the Neillsville City
Cemetery. The funeral was in charge of the Georgas Funeral
Home.
Mr.
Ratsch was born March 22, 1889, in the Town of Grant to Carl and
Caroline (Grottke) Ratsch and received his education in the rural
schools of the county. He spent his life as a farm worker and
for 12 years worked on construction work in Nebraska. He was
married to Edna Krause at West Point, Nebr., October 26,
1942. They moved to Neillsville in the spring of 1943.
For the past 12 years he had been employed as a machine operator at
the American Stores Dairy Co.
He
is survived by his wife, one sister, Mrs. Herman Scharf of
Neillsville and one brother, Herman Ratsch also of
Neillsville.
His
parents and one sister preceded him in death.
He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Neillsville.
