Bailey, Norma  (31 AUG 1926-28 NOV 2009)

Norma Jean Bailey, 83, Bloomington, Ill., died on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, at Asta Care Center, Bloomington. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield, Ill.

 

Norma Jean Barton was born on Aug. 31, 1926, in Springfield, Ill., to LeRoy Barton and Anna E. Obriket. She married George A Bailey on March 16, 1946, in Springfield. He died on June 23m 1978. She was a graduate of Springfield High School class of 1944, and was affiliated with the Shirley Christian Church. She worked at Model Paris for 10 years as a bookkeeper, was past secretary of the Corn Belt Kennel Club, and loved all animals. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed by all her family.

 

Survivors include a daughter, Georgia Bremmer, Bloomington; a son, James Lee Bailey, Neillsville; grandsons, Michka (Janna) L. Bailey, Rockford, Ill., and Darrick (Tami) Bremmer, Germantown Hills, Ill.; and a great-grandchild, Elijah Bremmer.

 

Preceding her in death were her parents; and a granddaughter, Sasha Jean Bremmer.

 

Memorials may be made to McLean County Humane Society or World Wildlife Foundation.

 

Calvert & Metzler Memorial Homes, Bloomington, Ill., is assisting the family with arrangements.
