Normadine M. Volk, 82, of Withee died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009. 
 

Services are pending. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Owen is assisting the family.

WITHEE -- Normadine M. Volk, 82, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at her residence in Withee. 
 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in the town of Hixon. 
 

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. A parish rosary service will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Visitation will be also be held at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time. 
 

A complete obituary will appear in the Wednesday edition of the Marshfield News-Herald.

WITHEE -- Normadine M. Volk, 82, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at her residence in Withee under the tender care of her children, special care providers and Ministry Home Care Hospice. 
 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen. The Rev. Gerard Willger will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in the town of Hixon. 
 

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen and Thursday at the church in Owen from 10 a.m. until time of service. A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home in Owen. 
 

Acting as her pallbearers will be Michael, Ryan and Kristian Schiszik, Adam and Alex Stumpner, Matthew, Jacob and Jared Volk and Wade Dobrzynski. 
 

Normadine was born Aug. 18, 1927, in Waverly, Iowa, the daughter of Chris and Carrie (Seiling) Nicolaus. After graduating from Waverly High School, she moved to Omaha, Neb., and enrolled in Creighton University where she obtained her nursing degree. 
 

Normadine became employed at the Community Hospital in Waverly, Iowa, assigned to the operating rooms. On Aug. 24, 1949, she married John R. Volk. Sadly, he passed away June 8, 1981. 
 

Normadine moved to Wisconsin and began work at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley as a nurse in the maternity ward then later worked as a nurse at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen where she cared for residents for more than 27 years. 
 

Normadine was a former board member at Victory Memorial Hospital. She was an avid reader and loved collecting antiques. Normadine enjoyed her college football and her Green Bay Packers. 
 

She is survived by children, John Volk of Owen, Beth (George) Hamm of Owen, Jane (Victor) Schiszik of Medford, Linda (special friend Randy) Schiszik of Spencer, Thomas (Shari) Volk of Withee, Daniel Volk of Owen and Julie (Paul Jr.) Stumpner of Owen; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. 
 

Normadine is further survived by one sister, Bernice Anderson, and one sister-in-law, Bernita Pace, both of Waverly, Iowa. 
 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one great-grandson Jacob; two brothers, Nick and John; and one sister, Jeanette. 
 

The family will be choosing a memorial in Normadine's name at a later date.
