Cook, Kate (14 June 1873 - 9 June
1955)
Mrs. Kate Cook, age 81, of Humbird, Wis., died
Thursday, June 9, at the home of her cousin, Mrs. Nelson
Parrott.
The
body in charge of the Bergemann Funeral Home was taken to the
Congregational Church at 1:00 p.m. on Monday where it reposed until
time of services.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 13, with
the Rev. Virgil Nulton officiating. Burial was in the
Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Cook was born June 14, 1873, at Black River
Falls, and lived in that community until her marriage to Lon Cook
on April 20, 1896, at Hewettville. They resided on a farm in
the Town of Hewett until the death of Mr. Cook in 1936. She
then moved to Neillsville, where she began work as the housekeeper
in the Arthur Dudley home. Several years ago she moved to
Humbird where she lived until her last illness made it impossible
to care for herself. Two months ago she went to make her home
with her cousin.
She
is survived by a granddaughter, Mrs. Laurel Ragona of South San
Francisco, Cal. and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son, Ben.
