Johnson, Betty Jane (Marriage- 4 June
1955)
Betty Jane Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Lawrence Johnson of Greenwood, became the bride of Carl Smith, Jr.,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Smith Sr. of Neillsville, in a double ring
ceremony performed June 4, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church
in Greenwood by the Rev. M. S. Egge.
The
bride wore a floor-length gown of nylon tulle over satin with a
court train. Her tight fitting bodice was fashioned with a
mandarin collar. The finger tip veil of sheer illusion net
with Alencon lace was fastened to a head piece of sequins and seed
pearls. A white orchid surrounded by lilies of the valley
tied with streamers formed her bouquet.
She
was attended by Arlys Smith as maid of honor and her bridesmaids
were Marion Johnson and Janice
Martin. They wore dresses of white, pink and blue
respectively.
The
groom was attended by Earl Smith, Frank Mitte and Irvin
Knoop.
After their return from a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin they will be at home in Richfield, where the groom is employed in the Richfield Cheese factory.
