Darling, Jennie (? - 1955)
From O. T. Darling of Moses Lake, Wash., The
Press had word of the death of Mrs. Jennie B. Darling, widow of
Frank E. Darling, once a resident of Neillsville. Mrs.
Darling was a resident of Montesano, Wash.
Frank E. Darling descended on his mother’s
side from the original James O’Neill, founder of
Neillsville. Maria O’Neill married a Frank Darling, and
one of their children was Harry F. Darling, who died July, 1953,
and is buried in the Neillsville City
Cemetery.
The
maiden name of Jennie B. Darling was Burnett. The Press has
consulted old-timers as to where she comes in the family
tree. The best surmise is that Frank Darling married twice
and that she was the second wife. This surmise is supported
by the obituary notice in the Montesano Vidette, which says that
Mrs. Darling left a step-grandson, Osman Darling of Moses Lake, and
several step-grandchildren in the east.
Frank Darling, her husband, was engaged in the shoe repair business at Montesano prior to his death in 1926.
