Nelson, Sadie (28 March 1869 - 8 August
1955)
Funeral services were held in Greenwood last
Thursday for Mrs. Carl Nelson, 86, who died August 8 at her home in
the Trondjhem community as the result of a heart ailment. She
had been in poor health for the last three years.
Mrs. Nelson was widely known in Clark County,
having been a resident of Sherwood and Trondhjem and a
correspondent for The Clark County Press from both of these
communities for many years.
The
services were held from Grace Methodist Chruch, following brief
rites at the home, with the Rev. Ethyl Nulton in charge. Burial was
made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
For
the last 16 years she had made her home on the farm, two miles
northeast of Greenwood in the Town of Warner.
Mrs. Nelson, nee Sadie Kirk, was born March 28,
1869, in Hartford, Conn. She was married there in 1905 to
George Redman, who died in 1932. They moved to Chicago in
1916, and later to a farm in the Town of Sherwood. On
November 4, 1936, she was married to Carl Nelson.
Surviving besides her husband are a brother-in-law, Ervin Emerson of Chicago, and many nieces and nephews who make their homes in the east.
