Stangret, Elmyra (30 AUG 1892 - 1 JUN 1955)
Mrs. Elmyra Stangret, route 2, Colburn, passed away at her home Wednesday after a brief illness. She was born Elmyra Quesnell, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Quesnell, in Colburn on Aug. 30, 1892, and resided there until 20 years of age when she moved to Stanley and married Michael Stangret at St. Mary’s Church in Stanley in Sept. of 1914.
Surviving are her husband, two sons, Casper M. of Stanley and John of Minneapolis, six daughters, Mrs. Leone Jacobs of Chippewa Falls, Mrs. Lorraine Isler of San Francisco, Calif., Mrs. Genevieve Samplawski of Thorp, Mrs. Geraldine Sime of Minneapolis, Mrs. Mary Alice Selipak of Chicago and Mrs. Betty Trubas of Thorp, one brother, Steven Quesnell of Stanley, three sisters, Mrs. Carl Hanson of Whitefish, Mont., Mrs. Fred Velcheck of Chicago, Mrs. George Unselt of Redwood City, Calif., and a number of grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 9:30 o’clock at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Stanley, Rev. Ralph Geissler officiating. The rosary was recited Friday night at 8:30 o’clock at the Plombon Funeral Home. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, St. Mary’s Guild, St. Bernadette’s Circle and the Brownsville Homemakers Club.
