Paulus, Blucher (19 April 1891 - 27 November 1955) 
 

Blucher Paulus, 64, of 113 E. 12^th Street, Neillsville, died November 27, 1955, at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Wood, Wis.  He had been a patient there since November 22. 
 

Mr. Paulus was born April 19, 1891, in the Town of Pine Valley to the late James and Maggie (Atkins) Paulus.  He attended the Neillsville schools and worked as a rural mailman out of Neillsville for four years.  On May 14, 1918, he enlisted in Milwaukee.  He served overseas from September 1, 1918, to March 24, 1919, with the American Expeditionary Forces and received his discharge April 11, 1919.  He served two years with the 128^th Infantry in the National Guard of Wisconsin.  He then went to work for his father at the Neillsville Bottling works and continued on for four years following the death of his father.  He then worked at the Veterans Hospital at Tomah for a period of five and one-half years and a year ago in March he was forced by ill health to retire. 
 

He was married June 3, 1938, at Dubuque, Ia., to Irene Margaret Baker, who survives him. 
 

He was a member of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church, the Modern Woodmen of America, the American Legion and the Loyal Order of Moose. 
 

Besides his wife, Mr. Paulus is survived by his son Donald Paulus of La Crosse; Mrs. Janie Paulus of Neillsville; Mrs. William Walker Of Madison; Mrs. Charles Badger of Tomah; and five grandchildren. 
 

The Rev. Albert Guthmiller of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church will officiate at the Military services which will be held today (Thursday) from the church.  Burial will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. 
 

The body will repose at the Bergemann Funeral Home until noon Thursday.  It will then be taken to the church.

Funeral services for Blucher Paulus, age 64, were conducted Thursday from the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church. The Rev. Albert Guthmiller officiated at the church. Full military rites were performed at the Neillsville City Cemetery, where he was interred. The American Legion had charge of the graveside rites.  Bugler was Dwayne Dux. 
 

The Men’s Chorus of the church sang, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Jacob Grether. 
 

Pallbearers were John Brandt, William Meier, George Shaw, Fred Wall, Walter Zank and Joseph Zilk, Sr.  The many floral offerings were in charge of Mrs. Wm. Meier, Mrs. Fred Wall, Mrs. John Wyer and Mrs. Walter Zank. 
 

Out of town relatives attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Donald Paulus, Mary and James, of La Crosse; Col. and Mrs. Charles Badger, Tomah; Mr. and Mrs. William Walker, Madison; and Mrs. E. F. Gardner, Mattoon, Ill.
