McPherson, Leah (Marriage - 26 November
1955)
At a candle light ceremony Satruday
evening, November 26, in First Methodist Church, Litchfield, Ill.,
Miss Leah McPherson became the bride of Hobart K. Sailor.
Using the double ring ceremony, the
bridegroom’s father, The Rev. D. K. Sailor of Urbana, Ill.,
and Dr. W. N. Grandy, dean of McKendree College, Lebanon, Ill.,
received the nuptials.
The wedding is of particular interest to
Loyal residents. The bride’s maternal grandparents, O. D.
Poulton, Litchfield, and the late Mrs. O. P. Poulton, were for many
years residents of Loyal; her paternal grandmother is Mrs. Stena
Rossman, Loyal; her parents are Mr. an Mrs. Douglas McPherson,
Litchfield, both former Loyal residents; and the bride was also a
Loyal resident when a child. Dr. Grandy, one officiant, was a
former pastor in the Loyal Methodist Church and was officiant at
the wedding 23 years ago of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas McPherson.
The bride, who was given in marriage by
her father, chose her sister, Miss Alice McPherson, as her maid of
honor. Her bridesmaids were her cousin, Miss Mary Louise
Poulton, of Iowa City, Ia., and Mrs. Wallace Frosch of Evanston,
Ill.
The bride is enrolled in the school of music at Northwestern University and plans to continue her studies. Her husband is in the sales department of C. M. Hoof Co., Evanston, Ill. They will reside in Glenview, Ill.
