Word has been received by local relatives
of the death of Eric W. Stephens, 48, a former Greenwood resident,
who died November 18, 1955, at Mt. Sinai Hospital,
Minneapolis.
Mr. Stephens was the husband of Helen
Stacy, the first Indian girl to be graduated from the Neillsville
High School. Mr. and Mrs. Stephens operated the Stacy farm
near Greenwood from 1939 to 1942. He was a deputy sheriff of
Hennepin County, Minn., and also worked as a criminal
investigator.
He is survived by his wife and six
children, Mrs. Harry (Bonnie) Stroessner, Maple Lake, Minn.; Marie,
Ellen, Earl, John and Dale, all at home.
Services were conducted at the Peace Evangelical and Reformed Church of St. Paul and burial took place in the Lakeview cemetery.
