Hoffman, Lewis R. "Louie" (19 September
1937 - 27 December 2009) With Flag
Lewis "Louie" R. Hoffman, 72, Fond du
Lac, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at his residence. He was
born Sept. 19, 1937, in Neillsville, the son of Carl and Nelda
(Hagedorn) Hoffmann. Upon graduation from Neillsville High
School in 1956 he joined the U. S. Navy. He married Nancy
Reinhold Oct. 1, 1977. He was employed by WP&L,
Plainfield Trucking, Giddings & Lewis, U.S. Chrome and A. O.
Smith. Louie was a member of the Eagles Club and Eagles
Anglers. He loved fishing, hunting and bowling, but most of
all he loved golfing.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy of Fond
du Lac; five children, Kim Hoffmann of New York City, NY, Tracy
(Mary) Hoffmann of Brighton, MA, David (Nikki) Hoffmann of
Northborough, MA, Marcy (Sean) Pacheco of Kingston, MA, and Michael
(Jenny) Hoffman of Fond du Lac; five grandchildren, Jonah Hoffmann,
Alexandra and Liam Pacheco, Sydney and Jet Hoffmann; sisters,
Dianne Thompson of Rockford, IL, and Mary Sue (Lawrence) Kyle of
Neillsville; sisters-on-law, Shirley Gehde, Mary (John) Sterba,
Carol (Fred) Schmidt, all of Fond du Lac; and many nieces, nephews
and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents;
his sister, Arlene; brother, Richard; mother-in-la and
father-in-law, Frank "Red" and Eunice Reinhold; and
brothers-in-law, Phil Thompson and Jim Gehde.
Visitation took place Thursday, Dec. 31,
2009, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home
in Fond du Lac. Entombment took place at Chapel of the Risen
Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery following the
visitation.
