Crittenden, Susan (8 JUL 1955)

The double ring marriage of Miss Susan Crittenden and Wayn LaGasse took place at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 8, 1955 at Grace Lutheran Church.  The couple is now on a wedding trip to Canada.

The Rev. Marcus Gravdal performed the marriage for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Crittenden, and the son of Mrs. Norman Lantz, all of Eau Claire.

The bride was given in marriage by her father for the candlelight ceremony.  She wore a gown of imported Swiss organdy over taffeta, fashioned with a court collar, long tapering sleeves, and a bouffant tiered skirt, which flared into a train.  An organdy cloche trimmed with sequins and pearls held her imported silk illusion veil.  She carried a bouquet of butterfly orchids. 

Miss Patricia Crittenden was maid of honor for her sister.  She wore a lavender organdy waltz length dress with a matching headband, and carried feathered purple asters and carnations.

Bridesmaids were Miss Oreen Torgerson and Miss Avis Hegge.  They had gowns and flowers identical to those of the maid of honor.

Best man was Keith LaGasse, and groomsmen were Roger Berg and Orin Grambo.  Ushers were Buzz and Barry Baker.

The bride’s mother wore a lace beige suit with light blue accessories and a corsage of light blue feathered carnations.  The groom’s mother wore a pink linen suit with white accessories and a corsage of white feathered carnations.

The bride’s uncle, Jerry Crittenden, was soloist for the wedding.

A reception was held in the church parlors following the ceremony.

The bride is a student nurse at Luther Hospital and the groom is a member of the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Truax Field, Madison.

Attending the wedding from Thorp were Mr. and Mrs. Jack LaGasse and family, brother of the groom, and Mr. and Mrs. Vic Verner.
