Quade, William C. (4 March 1891 - 11 February 1956) 
 

William C. Quade, 64, of Granton, R 2, died Saturday at his farm home in the Town of Washburn.  
 

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Georgas Funeral Home.  The Rev. Virgil Holmes officiated. Burial was made in the Dells Dam Cemetery. 
 

Mr. Quade was born March 4, 1891, in Germany, where he received his education.  He and his twin brother, Otto, came to the United States at the age of 17.  They came to the home of their uncle in La Prairie township, near Janesville. 
 

Farming was his life work.  Following his marriage to Anna Zick on November 27, 1912, at Clinton, they continued to farm near Janesville.  In 1949 the family moved to Clark County, settling on a farm in the Town of Washburn, which has been his home since. 
 

He is survived by his wife and three children: Mrs. Victor (La Verne) St. John, Granton; Raymond of Clinton; and Fred Quade, Beloit; a sister, Anna, in Germany; a brother, Fred, of Beloit; and 10 grandchildren. 
 

Pallbearers were: Henry Dahnert, Alex Poziombka, Elmer Kapfer, Oliver Williams, Richard Qualley and Harry Carstensen.  Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Elmer Kapfer and Mrs. Oliver Williams. 
 

Mrs. Virgil Holmes and Mrs. Albert Smith, accompanied by Mrs. Jacob Grether, sang two selections, "Nearer my God to Thee," and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." 
 

Out of town relatives attending the rites: Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Quade, Clinton; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Quade, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Zick, Mr. and Mrs. William Zick, Mrs. Ella Gilbert, Mrs. Lydia Gouchnour, all of Beloit; Mr. and Mrs. John Wilke, Footville; Mr. and Mrs. George St. John, Madison; and Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Lloyd, Stoughton.
