A 10 o’clock A.m. double ring ceremony in St. Rita’s Church at West Allis on Saturday, July 16, 1955 joined Nancy Englehardt and Richard Turenne, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Turenne of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). The ceremony was performed by Father Nuedling of West Allis followed by a nuptial Mass.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benedict Engelhardt of 6523 W. Greenfield Ave., West Allis, who was given in marriage by her father, chose a beautiful gown of white net with lace sleeves and lace bodice, which was covered with sequins and rhinestones and had a mandarin collar. Her fingertip veil was secured to a crown matching the dress. She carried white orchids and roses.
Audrey Watters, a friend, the maid of honor, wore a yellow strapless gown of net over taffeta. Bridget Brockaway, a friend, as flower girl, Thomas King, a nephew, as ring bearer, and Richard Engelhardt, a brother, as best man, completed the wedding party. Richard King, a brother-in-law, served as usher.
The bride’s mtoehr and likewise the groom’s mother, were honored with orchid corsages on this occasion.
A wedding breakfast, dinner and reception were held for guests numbering 200 at the Hilltop Hall at West Allis.
The bride attended St. Rita’s and Central High School at West Allis and has been employed as a stenographer at Allis Chalmers. The groom is a graduate of the Thorp High School and for the past number of years has been employed as sheet metal worker at Allis Chalmers.
After a honeymoon in northern Wisconsin and at Thorp they will be at home after July 29th at 2206 S. 72nd, West Allis.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Turenne, daughter Maxine of here, Clara Henchen of Neillsville, and Mrs. Malin Wallace, the groom’s sister of Minnesota, attended the wedding.
