Marion, Virginia A. (20 JUN 1955)
Miss Virginia Ann Marion, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Marion, Augusta, Wis., became the bride of Irvin Ketterhagen of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), at nine o’clock nuptial Mass at St. Rose of Lime Church in Cadott, June 20, 1955. Father Udulritch performed the double ring ceremony.
Bouquets of pink and white peonies decorated the altar.
The bride wore a gown of white Chantilly lace over taffeta, floor length, fashioned with a fitted bodice and lace bolero. The full skirt was worn over hoops. Her silk illusion veil was fastened to a diamond headpiece, which was trimmed with sequins and pearls. The bride carried a dozen red roses with white streamers. She was escorted to the altar by her father.
Miss Dorothy Marion was her sister’s maid of honor. She wore a skirt of net over taffeta with lace bodice and lace jacket. She carried a cascade bouquet of yellow and white carnations. Miss Norma Semanko of Cadott, a friend, served as bride in a gown identical to the maid of honor’s. She also carried a cascade bouquet of yellow and white carnations.
Donald Ketterhagen of Thorp served his brother as best man. Raymond Marion, Augusta, brother of the bride, Gilbert Marion, cousin of the bride, and Ted Peterson, cousin of the groom, ushered.
A wedding dinner was served to 85 guests at the Wilson Church Hall. In the afternoon a reception took place with 125 guests attending.
Mr. and Mrs. Ketterhagen are now residing on a farm near Thorp since their return from a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin.
The bride’s mother wore a light blue silk dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink and white carnations. The groom’s mother attended the wedding in a blue dress and she wore a similar corsage. Mrs. Ketterhagen, grandmother of the groom, wore a gray silk dress with gray accessories and a corsage of pink and white carnations. For traveling the bride selected a pink nylon dress. The grandmother of the groom, Mrs. Kosakoski, was present in a navy faille dress with white accessories complemented by a corsage of white carnations. Mrs. Emma Marion, also grandmother of the bride, chose a navy dress with a white carnation corsage.
