Kauffman, Louise Emma (12 December 1868 -
26 February 1956)
Mrs. Louise Emma Kauffman, 87, died at
the home of Mrs. Clara Rollins at 4 a.m. Sunday, February 26,
1956.
Mrs. Kauffman, nee Louise Jacobs, was
born at Elroy, December 12, 1868. She received her education
there and, on November 4, 1887, she was married there to William
Harrison Kauffman. In 1901 the family moved to Clark County
and settled on a farm three miles west of Loyal.
In 1914 they moved to Loyal into a home
they had built in the west part of the city. Mr. Kauffman
died in 1932.
For the past seven years Mrs. Kaufmann
has made her home with Mrs. Rollins.
She was a member of the Methodist church
and the Loyal American Auxiliary.
She is survived by four sons, Vernard, of
Loyal; Ray, of Alexandria, Va.; Harley of Flagstaff, Ariz.; and
Paul, of Eugene, Ore.; eleven grandchildren, 25
great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Osborn of Augusta,
and Mrs. Myrtle Persall of Elroy.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Charles Swanson officiated. Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.
