Lindner, Shirley (1956)
Shirley Lindner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Casper Lindner, Route 2, Loyal, has been selected as the senior
Greenwood High School girl to receive the DAR "Good Citizen" award,
according to an announcement made by Prin. Clifton Fonstad.
This award is made each year to the senior girl who, in the opinion
of her classmates and the high school faculty, best represents the
qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and
patriotism.
In making the selection for this
important award, the seniors voted first to pick candidates for the
award. The top candidates were then considered by the faculty
and the final selection was made.
Shirley is not only an outstanding school and community citizen, but is also an excellent student scholastically, Mr. Fonstad commented in announcing the winner. She ranks third in this year’s graduating class and has consistently been an honor student. She is active in the mixed chorus and is a member of the intramural board and captain of the senior intramural girls’ team. She is a co-business manager of the school annual.
