Lemke, Emil Reinhart (11 June 1885 - 5
March 1956)
Emil Reinhart Lemke, 70, of Greenwood
died suddenly of a heart attack at 8:35 a.m. Monday, March 5, 1956,
at his home.
He was born June 11, 1885, at Manitowoc,
where he received his education. He was married June 18,
1913, to Amelia Behring at Dorchester. She died April 19,
1919. He was married to Hannah Schafner at Loyal November 25,
1923 and she survives.
Mr. Lemke came to Marshfield in 1913 and
was employed as a carpenter. Excepting for the five years
spent in Dorchester, Park Falls and Denver, Colo., he had resided
in Marshfield, where he was employed by Krasin Bros.
Contractors. He moved to Greenwood in 1948, where he resided
since. He was a former member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran
Church in Marshfield.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three
children, Harvey of Fond du Lac; Raymond of Madison; and Miss
Virginia Lemke of Fond du Lac. Also surviving are three
grandchildren, three half-brothers, Herman Schlieve of Tigerton;
Elmer Schlieve of Juneau; and George Schlieve of Green Bay; three
half-sisters, Mrs. Ed Wollenberg of Tigerton; Mrs. Henry Huycke of
Menasha; and Mrs. Ferd Kitzman of Big Falls.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 7, at 2 p.m. from the Stabnow Funeral Home. The Rev. B. F. Matter of Wausau officiated. Burial was made in Hillside Cemetery at Marshfield.
