Quinnell, Robert Reginald (4 May 1900 -
13 April 1956)
Robert Quinnell, 55, of Route 2,
Neillsville, died early Friday morning in a hospital at Rochester,
Minn., following several years’ illness. Death was due
to a heart ailment.
Funeral services were held Monday
afternoon from the Bergemann Funeral Home. The Rev. Frank B.
Harcey, pastor of the Congregational Church, officiated.
Burial took place in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Robert Reginald Quinnell, son of Herbert
and Elizabeth (William) Quinnell, was born May 4, 1900, in the Town
of Pine Valley. Here he grew to manhood and received his
education in the Neillsville Public Schools. After receiving his
engineer’s degrees from I. C. S., he worked for two years for
the state highway department. Following this he worked as a
rural mail carrier at Curtiss for a year.
In 1925, he started fox farming, and in
1937 he started to raise mink.
His marriage to Treva Butler took place
April 14, 1937, in Chicago. He was a member of the
Congregational Church.
Surviving are his wife, and his aged
mother, Mrs. Herbert Quinnell of Neillsville, and the following
brothers and sisters: Herbert Quinnell of Spooner; Percy Quinnell,
Los Angeles, Cal.; Mrs. Donald (Elizabeth) Crothers, of
Neillsville; Ada Quinnell, Chicago; and Mrs. John (Frances)
O’Meara of Durand.
Pallbearers were: George Church, Orin
Eastman, Harry King, Harold Prock, Walter Wagner, Sr., and Tom
Yndogliato.
Out of town relatives attending the rites were: Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Quinnell, Spooner; Miss Ada Quinnell, Chicago; Dr. and Mrs. John O’Meara and son, Don, Durand; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Johns, Platteville; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Stiemke, Tomah; and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Short, Granton.
