Blum, Paul C. (25 August 1892 - 11 April 1956) 
 

Paul C. Blum, 63, of 305 East 5^th Street, Neillsville died Wednesday at his home following a long illness. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon from St. John’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. Alfred Schewe, pastor of the church, officiated.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. 
 

The body, in charge of the Georgas Funeral Home, lay in state at the funeral home until noon Saturday, when it was taken to the church to repose until time of services at 3 p.m. 
 

Mr. Blum was born August 25, 1892, in the Town of Levis, to Helmuth and Caroline (Wegner) Blum.  He received his education in the rural school and St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran church school.  He assisted his parents with the farm until completing his school days, then left for Chicago, where he worked as a streetcar conductor for 10 years.  In 1921 the Blum family returned to Neillsville, where he operated a tire shop, with which he was connected until 1937.  
 

For the past 10 years Mr. Blum was employed by the American Telephone and Telegraph Company.  He retired three years ago because of poor health. 
 

He was married to Mamie Roepke in 1916 in Chicago. 
 

He is survived by his wife and a daughter, Mrs. Karl (Louise) Hoebling of Chicago; and five sisters, Mrs. Helene Schroeder, Neillsville: Miss Johanna Blum, Owen; Mrs. Elizabeth and Mrs. Jacob Wendel, both of Chicago; Mrs. Henry (Martha) Reigel, Owen; and a brother, John Blum of West Allis.  
 

Pallbearers were: Claude Westphal, Adolf Meyer, Carl Lewerenz, Henry Naedler, Paul Bartell and Werner Jenni.  Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Clarence De Cremer and Mrs. Robert Thompson. 
 

Miss Lucille Greeler, accompanied by Victor Lehman, sang "I Know That My Redeemer Lives."
