Wink, Elizabeth (30 AUG 1955)
Chantilly lace and nylon tulle over taffeta was used to fashion the bridal gown worn by Miss Elizabeth Wink, daughter of Albert Wink, route 3, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), for her wedding Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock with Charles D. Spaeth, son of Mrs. John Spaeth, Route 2, Boyd. The nuptials were repeated before the Rev. A. M. Muckerheide in St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Thorp. The wedding ceremony was followed by a Nuptial High Mass.
The Chantilly lace trimming on her fitted, short sleeved bodice, was re-embroidered with iridescent sequins and seed pearls. The lace framed the portrait neckline and also formed the upper portion of the sleeves. Tucked tulle formed her bodice and short sleeves and also outlined the neckline. Sequins and pearls were used on the inset of lace in the bouffant skirt of tulle over net. A lace pillbox held the fingertip veil of French illusion, and stephanotis surrounded the white orchid which she carried as a bridal bouquet.
A niece of the bride, Miss Eleanor Orzeckowski, route 1, Thorp, preceded the bride down the altar as maid of honor. Other aides were Miss Janice Spaeth and Miss Donna Swaboda, Chippewa Falls, nieces of the groom. The girls were attired in gowns of nylon lace and net over taffeta with the maid of honor being attired in maize and the bridesmaids wearing sky blue. Cap sleeved bolero jackets were worn over the fitted strapless bodices and the floor length skirts were detailed with handkerchief apron effects over lace and edged in a ruffling of net. Their matching lace tiaras had beaded trim, and they carried bouquets of yellow carnations trimmed in blue, in cascade arrangements.
The groom selected Lawrence Wink to be his best man, and Albert Wink, brothers of the bride, Thorp, for his groomsmen. Tony Wink, another brother of the bride, and Clarence Spaeth, brother of the groom, ushered the guests to their places.
Following the church services, the bride and groom were honored at a dinner and reception in St. Hedwig’s Parish Hall, Thorp.
A farm on route 2, Boyd, will be the first home of the newlyweds.
