Skaleski, Lorraine (3 SEP 1955)

In a double ring ceremony performed by Rev. Arnold M. Muckerheide at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 1955 at St. Bernard’s Church, Thorp, Lorraine Skaleski became the bride of Clayborne Ebben, son of Mrs. Clara Ebben, all of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).  St. Bernard’s junior choir sang at the nuptial Mass.

Yellow and white gladiolas decorated the altar and church for the occasion.

The bride, given in marriage by her brother, John Skaleski of Chicago, wore a ballerina length dress of white dotted Dacron over taffeta fashioned with a Peter Pan collar and short sleeves.  Her shoulder length veil of silk illusion was secured to a crown of lilies of the valley and she carried a wicker basket of daisies and lilies of the valley.

In white dotted Dacron over yellow taffeta, ballerina length dresses fashioned with a scalloped neckline and shirred band forming a brief sleeve were Rosann Ebben, sister of the groom, as maid of honor, and Mrs. Ronald Ebben of Menomonie, a sister-in-law, and Marge Broeren, friend, as bridesmaids.  Their picture hats were of the same material as their dresses and they carried wicker baskets of daisies.  The bride and her attendants wore pearl chokers and wrist gloves.

The bride’s gift to her attendants were decad?? of the rosary bracelets set with each one’s birthstone.

The groom and his attendants, Donald Jacques of Milwaukee, a friend, as best man, Ronald Ebben of Menomonie, a brother, and Clarence Dulek, a friend, were attired in tuxedos, wearing a white carnation boutonniere.

The bride’s mother attended the wedding wearing a dark print dress with matching accessories and the groom’s mother wore a fall dress of violet hue with black accessories.

A wedding breakfast was served for the wedding party at the Wm. Parks home, close friends of the bride, and a wedding dinner including relatives at St. Bernard’s Parish Hall.  The reception from 2 to 5 p.m. and buffet supper were also held at St. Bernard’s Parish Hall for 150 guests.

The newlyweds left on a honeymoon in northern Minnesota and plan to return about the 9^th or 10^th of September to Thorp where they will reside.

The bride attended school at Thorp and is employed as a statistician at the Thorp Finance Co.  The groom also attended school here and is employed at Blue Moon Foods, Inc.
