Hiles, Paulina (10 December 1872 - 1 June
1956)
Mrs. Paulina Hiles, 83, of the Town of
Grant, died Friday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. Rollie Dietrich.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday
from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. Albert Guthmiller,
pastor of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church officiated and
interment was in the Windfall cemetery at Granton.
Mrs. Hiles was born December 10, 1872, in
Germany, and came to the United States as a young lady, staying
with relatives in northern Illinois. On May 3, 1898, she was
married to Charles Hiles at Wilmot, Wis. Following their
marriage they farmed in northern Illinois and about 50 years ago
came to Clark County, where they farmed in the towns of Weston and
Grant. Since the death of Mr. Hiles, she had made her home
with her children.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
in 1934 and one son, Arthur.
Mrs. Hiles is survived by the following
children: Mrs. Rollie (Anna) Dietrich of Granton, Rt. 2; Robert
Hiles and William Hiles of Granton, and Mrs. Rachel
Brusburg, Milwaukee; 15 grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Paulina Hiles Rites:
Pallbearers at the funeral of Mrs.
Paulina Hiles last week were: Donald Hughes, Clarence Braatz, John
Handt, Ernest Handt, Alfred Magnuson, and Lewis Scholtz. Miss
Sarah Albrecht, accompanied by Jane Dundas sang two
selections.
Out of town relatives attending the rites were: Mrs. Rachel Brusburg and daughter, Judith, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Davidson and daughter, Adams: Mr. and Mrs. James Hiles and son and Mrs. Tilman Erickson, Janesville; Mr. and Mrs. William Hiles and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hiles and family, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Handt, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Grassman, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Canfield and Pauline, Mrs. Frederick Elmhorst, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Braatz, Mrs. Merton Holt and Mrs. Ethel Holt, all of Granton; Louvella Bolster, Marshfield.
