Armitage, Jeneda (Marriage - 2 June
1956)
The Christie Methodist Church at Christie
was the scene Saturday of the wedding of Miss Jeneda Armitage and
Leroy Lavandowski. The Rev. Ethel Nulton of Greenwood
performed the double ring ceremony before an altar banked with
large bouquets of lilacs. The pews were marked with white
paper bows.
Parents of the young couple are Mr. and
Mrs. Lisle Armitage of Neillsville, Rt. 4, and Mr. and Mrs. Helmuth
Lavandowski of Greenwood.
For her wedding the bride was given in
marriage by her father, and chose a floor length white net over
taffeta gown, with a tight fitting bodice that was fashioned with
short sleeves. A front and back panel of lace highlighted the
skirt. She wore glovelets of matching material. An
orchid on an heirloom fan was her bouquet.
Miss Barbara Miller was her maid of
honor, and Miss Kay Crume was her bridesmaid. Little Linda
Mead attended the bride as flower girl.
James Buettner of Christie was bestman
and attending to ushering duties were Willis Armitage and Robert
Tichy. Groomsman was Wayne Hollenbach.
A wedding reception was held at the
Weston town hall. After a wedding trip to the western states
they will be at home at Greenwood, Rt. 1.
The bride is a graduate of Neillsville
High School and has been employed for the past year at the First
National Bank at Neillsville. The groom was graduated from
the Loyal High School and has been farming near Greenwood.
For the past one-half year he has been employed in
Marshfield.
Out of town relatives attending the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Otto Penzanstadler, Waukegan, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Schaper and Richard, Butternut; Miss Janette Larson, Stevens Point; Mr. and Mrs. David Lavey, Eau Claire; Mrs. Rollins, the groom’s grandmother from Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rollins and family, Chili; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Gower and Wayne, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gower, Mrs. Lee Gower, Mrs. Irving Gower, Chili and Granton and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Armitage and sons, of Humbird.
