Zank, Betty Ann (Marriage - 9 June 1956) 
 

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Neillsville was the scene Saturday evening of the marriage of Miss Betty Ann Zank and Ronald G. Meihack.  The Rev. Alfred Schewe, pastor of the church, officiated at the 7:30 p.m. candlelight nuptials for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Zank of 1109 Emery Street, Neillsville, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Meihack of Rt. 3, Neillsville. 
 

The vases on the altar were filled with white lilacs, and two matching baskets of white spirea and yellow tulips stood on either side of the altar.  Vases on the bride’s table at the reception consisted of lily of the valley and other vases throughout the room were filled with orchid colored iris, foliage and yellow buttons and daisies. 
 

The bride wore a dress of nylon tulle lace with a fitted bodice fashioned with long sleeves that came to a point at the wrists.  The bodice was complete with a scalloped V-neckline.  The skirt was fashioned of a four-tiered cascade sweeping from the waistline.  Her veil of imported silk illusion was secured to a flat lacy hat and side puffs of pleated tulle.  She carried a white Bible with a white orchid with a deep, purple center, and lily of the valley. 
 

Miss Eileen Zank, sister of the bride, was her maid of honor.  Miss Ruby Meihack, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid.  The attendants wore orchid colored gowns with strapless lace bodices.  A nylon net overskirt fell over the taffeta skirt.  Lace and net ruffles beginning in the upper front of the skirt continued to the floor in the back.  Over this they wore little lace jackets with matching colored headpieces of crystal fringe tiaras.  They carried crescent-shaped bouquets of lily of the valley and tuberous begonias.  
 

The groom was attended by his brother, Marvin Meihack of Hoskins, Nebr., and Donald Zick a cousin of Clinton, as best men.  William Zank, brother of the bride, and Raymond Wetzel, cousin of the groom ushered. 
 

The pre-service music played by Mrs. Marvin Meihack of Hoskins, Nebr. And Victor Lehman played the wedding march and the recessional and Dale Appleyard sang, "The Lord’s Prayer."   
 

A reception for approximately 150 guests was held at St. John’s Lutheran parish hall following the ceremony. 
 

The young couple has left on a wedding rip to Yellowstone Park.  Upon their return they will make their home at 209 Clay Street, Neillsville. 
 

The bride is a graduate of Neillsville High School and is employed at the Neillsville Bank.  The groom is also a graduate of the local high school and is a clerk in the A & P store here. 
 

Out of town guests attending were: Mrs. Charlotte Scherer, William Scherer, Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. George Scherer and George, Jr., Round Lake Park, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Zank, Alberta and Jerry, Chippewa Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Suckow and Ardith, Greenwood; Miss Barbara Borde, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. William Bozman, Jerry and Jimmy, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Godwin, Alfred and Janice, Milwaukee, Mrs. Erna Zick and Miss Hazel Zick, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Zick and Ronald and Susan, Clinton, Wis.; Mrs. Glenn Bailey and Darleen, Baraboo; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Meihack, Hoskins, Nebr. 
 

Miss Ardith Suckow, cousin of the bride, had charge of the guest register, and the bride’s aunt, Mrs. Francis Suchow served the wedding cake.
