Botnen, Karen Marie (Marriage - 7 June 1956)

Wedding promises were exchanged by Miss Karen Marie Botnen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Botnen, 124 West 10th Street, Neillsville, and Eugene Thomas Trimberger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. Trimberger, Granton, at a ceremony June 7, in the Zion Lutheran Church, Granton, with the Rev. Arthur Oswald officiating.

Miss Sarah Albrecht sang, "O Perfect Love" and "The Lord’s Prayer," accompanied at the organ by Richard Hillert cousin of the groom.  Decorating the church were baskets of fresh garden flowers.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown of nylon net over taffeta.  Fashion details were a strapless bodice with frilly swirl trim extending over the net and taffeta, a matching bolero with Peter Pan collar, buttoned down the front, and long fitted sleeves coming to a point over her hands.  Her waistline veil of nylon tulle was held in place by a crown studded with iridescent pearl sequins.  She wore pearl earrings and necklace, a gift from the groom.  A lacy heart-shaped bouquet of rose garnets with garnets streamers was carried by the bride.

Miss Cheryl Mabie, maid of honor, selected a floor length gown of blue nylon tulle over blue taffeta.  A matching flowered head piece adorned her head.  She carried a lacy fan bouquet of pink baby roses. Bridesmaids were Miss Mary Lou Hagie, Neillsville, and Miss Jeannine Northup, Rockford, Ill.  The bridesmaids were dressed identically with the maid of honor.

Wayne W. Trimberger attended his brother as best man.  Groomsmen were Erlin Garbisch and Richard Eibergen.  Ushers were Dale Trimberger and Arnold Schumacher.

Immediately following the wedding, a reception was held at the Walter Trimberger home.  The wedding dinner was held in the Ladies Aid house in Granton.  The early hours of the evening were spent at the Walter Trimberger cottage on Lake Arbutus. A dance was held in honor of the couple at the Silver Dome.

For her daughter’s wedding Mrs. Botnen chose a yellow chiffon dress, white accessories and a corsage of white roses.  Mrs. Trimberger, mother of the bridegroom, wore a pink silk samba dress, pink accessories and a corsage of white roses.

The couple left for a short trip to northern Wisconsin, after which (missing part) Miss Hagie.  The bridegroom’s parents entertained the bridal party, the bride’s parents, and the Rev. Arthur Oswald’s at a rehearsal dinner Wednesday evening.
