Botnen, Karen Marie (Marriage - 7 June
1956)
Wedding promises were exchanged by Miss
Karen Marie Botnen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Botnen, 124 West
10th Street, Neillsville, and Eugene Thomas Trimberger,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. Trimberger, Granton, at a ceremony
June 7, in the Zion Lutheran Church, Granton, with the Rev. Arthur
Oswald officiating.
Miss Sarah Albrecht sang, "O Perfect
Love" and "The Lord’s Prayer," accompanied at the organ by
Richard Hillert cousin of the groom. Decorating the church
were baskets of fresh garden flowers.
Given in marriage by her father, the
bride wore a floor length gown of nylon net over taffeta.
Fashion details were a strapless bodice with frilly swirl trim
extending over the net and taffeta, a matching bolero with Peter
Pan collar, buttoned down the front, and long fitted sleeves coming
to a point over her hands. Her waistline veil of nylon tulle
was held in place by a crown studded with iridescent pearl
sequins. She wore pearl earrings and necklace, a gift from
the groom. A lacy heart-shaped bouquet of rose garnets with
garnets streamers was carried by the bride.
Miss Cheryl Mabie, maid of honor,
selected a floor length gown of blue nylon tulle over blue
taffeta. A matching flowered head piece adorned her
head. She carried a lacy fan bouquet of pink baby roses.
Bridesmaids were Miss Mary Lou Hagie, Neillsville, and Miss
Jeannine Northup, Rockford, Ill. The bridesmaids were dressed
identically with the maid of honor.
Wayne W. Trimberger attended his brother
as best man. Groomsmen were Erlin Garbisch and Richard
Eibergen. Ushers were Dale Trimberger and Arnold
Schumacher.
Immediately following the wedding, a
reception was held at the Walter Trimberger home. The wedding
dinner was held in the Ladies Aid house in Granton. The early
hours of the evening were spent at the Walter Trimberger cottage on
Lake Arbutus. A dance was held in honor of the couple at the Silver
Dome.
For her daughter’s wedding Mrs.
Botnen chose a yellow chiffon dress, white accessories and a
corsage of white roses. Mrs. Trimberger, mother of the
bridegroom, wore a pink silk samba dress, pink accessories and a
corsage of white roses.
The couple left for a short trip to northern Wisconsin, after which (missing part) Miss Hagie. The bridegroom’s parents entertained the bridal party, the bride’s parents, and the Rev. Arthur Oswald’s at a rehearsal dinner Wednesday evening.
