Baran, Julia #2 (23 OCT 1869 - 17 OCT 1955)

 

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Francis Piekarski at St. Hedwig’s Church at 10:00 a.m. on Oct. 22nd for Mrs. Julia Baran, 86, who passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Kowalski in the Town of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) Monday, Oct. 17th, 1955 of old age infirmities.

 

Julia Stojak was born in Poland on Oct. 23, 1869.  She came to America in 1887 and resided for a time in Chicago where she was united in marriage to Anton Baran in 1891.  They moved on a farm near Thorp in 1898 where she lived until death.  Her husband preceded her in death in 1935.

 

Surviving her are eight daughters, Sophia, Mrs. Joe Hudacek, Anna, Mrs. Joe Fugiel, Agnes, Mrs. V. Gawel, and Julia and Helen Baran, all of Chicago; Victoria, Mrs. Frank Kowalski, Rose, Mrs. Thomas Chodera, and Frances, Mrs. Peter Tomkowiak, all of Thorp; one sister, Mrs. Victoria Gill of Chicago; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

 

She was laid to rest in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery.  Pallbearers were grandsons Edward Zaborowski, Ed Tomkowiak, John Szpara, Frank Szpara, Frank Hudacek and Henry Danielewicz.

 

Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Fugiel and daughter, Leo Sokol and son, Mr. and Mrs. V. Gawel, Mr. and Mrs. henry Danielewicz and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jarzyna and family, Mr. Frank Hudacek and children, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hudacek, Julia and Helen Baran, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Stefan, Mr. and Mrs. James Carroll and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Jaski, all of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kielkecki of St. Paul and Joe Czyzewicz of Eau Claire.
