Stevens, Joanne (Marriage - 14 July
1956)
The Zion American Lutheran Church at
Granton was the setting for the 2:30 p.m. Saturday wedding of Miss
Joanne Stevens and Wallace Krause, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs.
Irving Stevens of Neillsville, Rt. 4, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Krause
of Granton.
The double ring ceremony was performed by
the Rev. Marvin Beninga before an altar banked with white and
yellow gladioli and blue delphinium. After the ceremony a
reception for 100 guests was held in the church basement, which was
decorated with garden flowers.
As the bride approached the altar on the
arm of her father, she wore a white floor length dress fashioned
with a tiered skirt of lace trimmed nylon net over satin. The
tight fitting bodice was complete with a squared neckline, and
short sleeves. To complete her outfit she wore lace net
mitts. Her finger-tip veil was attached to a lace, pearl
trimmed Juliette cap. Her bouquet consisted of a purple
orchid surrounded by whie stephanotis.
The bride was attended by Joyce Vincent
as maid of honor and Kathleen Krause as bridesmaid.
Attending the groom as bestman was
Kenneth Krause, and groomsman was Erland Marg. Ushers were
Arnold Trachte and Donald Krause.
Appropriate music was furnished by
Wilfred Galstad.
The bride is a graduate of the
Neillsville High School with the class of 1950 and has been
employed at the First National Bank at Neillsville. The groom
is also a 1950 graduate and has spent four years with the U. S. Air
Force. He is employed by the R & W Construction Co. of
Milwaukee, where the young couple will make their home.
Out of town persons attending the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Leland Dopp and family, Leilah Dopp, and Mr. and Mrs. Reinhold Krause, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. James Waller, Janesville; Mr. and Mrs. James Denncl, Racine; Mrs. Mabel Struebing, Elmhurst, Ill.
