Wegner, Clara Rose (17 November 1879 - 10
July 1956)
Mrs. Ben Wegner, 76, of 308 Court Street,
Neillsville, died July 10 at her home following a long
illness.
Clara Rose Beyer, daughter of the late
William and Augustina (Puttkamer) Beyer was born November 17, 1879,
in the Town of Pine Valley. Here she received her education
in the rural schools. She lived at home until her marriage to
Ben Wegner on December 28, 1903. Following their marriage
they farmed in the Town of Pine Valley for five years and then
moved to Neillsville, where they have made their home since that
time. Mr. and Mrs. Wegner observed their golden wedding
anniversary in 1953.
Mrs. Wegner is survived by her husband
and the following children: Alfred Wegner, Neillsville; Mrs. Willis
(Dorothy) Brickheimer, Cable; Mrs. Louis (Agnes) Meinholdt,
Neillsville; Mrs. Truman (Alma) Pederson, Fairchild; Mrs. Gordon
(Velda) Thur, Fairchild; and Carl R. Wegner of Neillsville.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren and the following
brothers and sisters: Carl Beyer, Albert Beyer, Elmer Beyer and
Mrs. Ted (Bertha) Linster, all of Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Earl (Hilda)
Phillips, Vancouver, Wash.; Herman Beyer, Athens; William Beyer,
Rt. 3, Neillsville, and August Beyer, Rt. 1, Greenwood.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday
afternoon from the Bergemann Funeral Home. The Rev. Virgil
Holmes, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiated. Interment
took place in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Willis Brickheimer,
Jr., Lewis Oelke, Kenneth Olson, David Parry, Everett Skroch and
Robert Wagner.
Out of town relatives attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Willis Brickheimer, Sr., Willis Brickheimer, Jr., Miss Arlene Brickheimer, all of Cable; Mr. and Mrs. Truman Pederson, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Thur and family, Mrs. Marlin Schmidt, Mrs. Harold Thur, and Mrs. Ernest Thur, all of Fairchild. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Beyer, Athens; Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Oelke, Merrill; Mrs. Melvin Mech, Owen; Mrs. Orlin Fravert, and Mrs. Olga Reineking, Greenwood; Miss Clara Knoop and Albert Mannigel, Marshfield.
