Schultz, Charley August (17 May 1877 - 1
September 1956)
Charley August Schultz, 79, of
Neillsville, died at 9:15 a.m. September 1;, at his home at 1015
West 5th Street. He had been in failing health for
several years. Mr. Schultz was born May 17, 1877, in the Town
of Pine Valley, the son of the late Carl and Augusta (Zimmerman)
Schultz. He attended rural school, and as a young man worked
on the farm in lumber camps during the winter months.
On October 17, 1906, he was married to
Louisa Klann of Pine Valley, the ceremony being performed in
Neillsville. They located on a farm about two miles west of
Neillsville, where they lived until 1948, when, due to failing
health, Mr. and Mrs. Schultz turned their farm over to their
son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. August Nemitz, and moved to
Neillsville. All his life except the last eight years was
spent in Pine Valley.
Funeral services were held September 4,
from the Georgas Funeral Home and were conducted by the Rev. Ben
Stucki of the Indian School. Burial was made in the Neillsville
City Cemetery.
Surviving beside his wife and daughter, Mrs. August (Meta) Nemitz, is a brother, Otto Schultz, of Emmett, ID. There are two grandchildren, Herbert and Melvin Nemitz.
