Epding, Ardythe Mae (Marriage - 13
October 1956)
A wedding of interest to many Neillsville
persons was that of Miss Ardythe Mae Epding of Wausau to Lloyd
Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Smith of Abbotsford. The
bride resided in Neillsville at the time that her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Arthur Epding, operated the Merchants Hotel.
Te Rev. J. C. Rosenau performed the
double ring ceremony Saturday afternoon in Grace Evangelical and
Reformed Church of Wausau. Bouquets of fall flowers decorated
the altar for the four o’clock service.
Attending were Miss Diane Epding, sister
of the bride, as maid of honor; Sally Epding, another sister of the
bride, as flower girl; Charles Von Kanel as bestman; and Vernon
Stanton as groomsman.
The bride wore a ballerina-length own of
white nylon lace over taffeta. Her finger tip veil fell from
a double crown of sequins. She carried a cascade bouquet of
roses and stephanotis.
Following the church services the couple
greeted approximately 175 guests at a reception held in the West
Side Hotel.
When the couple left on their wedding
trip the bride was wearing a charcoal gray suit with a white orchid
pinned to her shoulder-line. Upon their return they will
reside on Route 4, Wausau.
