Pietenpol, John W. (25 January 1866 - 27
October 1956)
Funeral services were conducted Monday
afternoon from the Granton Methodist Church for John W. Pietenpol,
90, who died Saturday at the Memorial Hospital. The Rev.
Virgil Holmes officiated, after which interment took place in the
Windfall Cemetery near Granton.
Mr. Pietenpol was born January 25, 1866,
at Gibbsville in Sheboygan County and in 1892 moved to his present
farm home in the Town of York. On September 19, 1891, he was
married to Nellie Davis, at the Davis home in Granton. They settled
on the farm, where Mr. Pietenpol lived 64 years. She preceded
him in death on July 15, 1929. Mr. Pietenpol was a member of
the Modern Woodmen of Granton.
Before leaving Sheboygan County he became
a member of the Dutch Reformed Church and had kept his membership
in that church through the years.
He is survived by the following five
children: Ruth and Bernard of Granton; Frederick Pietenpol of
Milwaukee; Mrs. Harold (Marjorie) Trewartha, Neillsville; Mrs.
Luther (Josephine) Johnson of Ironwood, Mich.; one brother,
William, of Sheboygan; 12 grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by one child, two brothers and four sisters.
