Higgins, Daniel Haney (17 December 1877 -
5 November 1956)
Daniel H. Higgins, 78, former resident of
Neillsville, died Tuesday in Chicago. The funeral is
tentatively set for Friday afternoon at the Bergemann Funeral
Home.
He was a step-brother of the late James
Paulus.

Funeral services for Daniel H. Higgins,
78, who died November 5, in Chicago, were held Friday afternoon
from the Bergemann Funeral Home. The Rev. Frank B. Harcey,
pastor of the Congregational Church, officiated. Burial was
made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: E. H. Snyder, Herman
North, Leslie Yorkston, Frank Blumenthaler, Ray Strebing and Alfred
Wegner.
Daniel Haney Higgins, son of the late
Edgar and Ellen (Healy) Higgins, was born December 17, 1877, in the
Town of Levis. He received his education there and was
graduated from the Neillsville High School. He later attended
the University of Minnesota.
When he was a young man he played
baseball in the American League. He later became a salesman
living at Janesville and Monroe. He was a veteran of the
Spanish-American war. Upon his return from service he
operated his business in Chicago.
In 1928 he was married to Mathilde Meyer, who survives, and resides in Chicago.
