Hauser, Ferdinand R. (25 August 1875 - 29
November 1956)
Ferdinand R. Hauser, 81, of Neillsville,
who made his home with his daughter at the Winnebago Indian School,
died Thursday at his home following an illness of a year.
Funeral services were conducted Friday
evening at 8 o‘clock at the Georgas Funeral Home, with the
Rev. Jacob Grether officiating. The body was taken Saturday
morning to La Crosse, where services were conducted Monday
afternoon. Burial was in the Hauser cemetery plot at La
Crosse.
Mr. Hauser was born August 25, 1875, at
La Crosse, where he received his education and grew to
manhood. He farmed at La Crosse, and in 1944 came to work at
the Winnebago Indian School. His marriage to Elizabeth Minnie
Richter took place April 17, 1902, at La Crosse. She preceded
him in death in 1944. Mr. Hauser was the son of the late John
E. and Elizabeth (Kienholz) Hauser.
He is survived by a daughter, Miss
Gretchen Hauser of the Indian school, and the following sisters and
brothers: Mrs. Rose Eberhardt, Neillsville; Mrs. Paul (Marie)
Ruoff, Fergus Falls, Minn.; Mrs. John (Julia) Zumstein, Tillamook,
Ore.; Mrs. C. (Clara) Steiner, St. Paul, Minn.; John F. Hauser,
Bayfield, Wis.; Albert and Emil Hauser, both of La Crosse; Mrs. G.
J. (Elizabeth) Cooper of West Allis, Wis.
Mr. Hauser was a member of St.
John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church of La Crosse and the
Modern Woodmen of America.
