Pachal, Esther Julia Hulda (30 April 1921 - 16 January 2010) 
 

Esther J. H. Pachal, 88, of Neillsville, formerly of Loyal, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at Memorial Medical Center Health & Rehab in Neillsville. 
 

Esther Julia Hulda Karnopp was born April 30, 1921, in the Town of Beaver, Clark County, the daughter of Louis and Emma (Becker) Karnopp.  She was raised on the family farm and received her education at Oak Grove School. After completing her schooling, Esther worked as a nanny in the Loyal area. She was united in marriage Aug. 5, 1939, to Frank Martin Pachal at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Riplinger.  Esther was a housewife and farmed with her husband in the Town of Beaver until 1969, at which time they sold the farm and moved into the city of Loyal.  Her husband died Jan. 13, 1970. She then worked at the bakery in Loyal and as a cook for the Loyal School District for 16 years.  Esther continued to reside in Loyal until moving to the Neillsville Retirement Community in 2001. 
 

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the TLCW and had many interests but especially love baking apple pies, playing any kind of cards, crocheting, embroidery, sewing and word finds. 
 

Esther will be dearly missed by her children, Marlene (William) English of Davenport, FL, Milton (Rita) Pachal of Wausau, Carolyn Perrine of Sun Prairie, Sandra (Harold) Drescher of Neillsville, Randall (Kathy Pachal of Hayward, Eugene (Patti) Pachal of Dane, Karen (Larry) Stargardt of Marshfield and Sharon (Jeff) Rasmussen of Marshfield; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Alice Lavene of Neillsville; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 
 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two great-grandchildren, Jacklyn English and Gloria Rinehart; one son-in-law, William Perrine; three sisters, Elda Neumann, Linda Delo and Alice Raatz; and two brothers, Clarence and Wilbert Karnopp. 
 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal.  Rev. Daniel Zimmerman will officiate, and burial will follow in the Lutheran Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Joe Pachal, Luke Pachal, Jeremy Pachal, Bill Perrine, Kevin Perrine, Rod English, Bob English, Bill English and Mark English.  Visitation was held at the Cuddie Funeral Home in Loyal Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will be held at the church Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
