Semanko, Norma (17 OCT 1955)

On Monday morning, Oct. 17^th, 1955, occurred the marriage of Norma Semanko, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Semanko of Cadott, and Donald Ketterhagen, son of Ray Ketterhagen of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).  Rev. Augustine Sulik performed the double ring ceremony preceding the Nuptial Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cadott.  The senior choir sang appropriate hymns for the occasion.

The bride was lovely in a white satin gown, with lace bodice, and long sleeves which came to a point at the wrist, a pleated satin cummerbund, lace detail, front and back of the skirt, with double net overskirt.  Her lace edged, nylon tulle fingertip veil fell from a rhinestone studded crown.  She wore a rhinestone cross and earrings, a gift of the groom.  Her cross shaped bouquet was of red roses and white carnations.

The bride chose her sister-in-law, Mrs. Irvin Ketterhagen, for her maid of honor.  She was attired in a peacock blue gown of net over satin, with a velvet bodice and jacket with matching velvet headband.  Her rhinestone earrings were a gift of the bride.  She carried a heart shaped bouquet of talisman roses and yellow mums.

Miss Irene Seichter, a close friend of the bride, served as bridesmaid.  Her gown and bouquet were identical to those of the maid of honor.  Her rhinestone earrings were a gift of the bride.

The groom chose for his attendants his brother Irvin and Eugene Semanko, brother of the bride.  They wore blue suits with white carnation boutonnieres.

Dinner was served for the bridal party at Club 49, at noon.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents from two until seven with 150 guests present.

A wedding dance was held in the evening at Edson pavilion.

The newlyweds left Tuesday morning for a tour of northern Wisconsin and upper Michigan.  They will reside at 1833 N. Farwell Ave., Milwaukee.
