Breitzman, Rita J. (5 NOV 1955)
Miss Rita Jean Breitzman, daughter of John Breitzman, route 5, Eau Claire, became the bride of Joseph William Cigan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wasil Cigan, route 1, Gilman, on Saturday. The Rev. Michael Chervinsky officiated at the 10 a.m. double ring ceremony at St. John’s Orthodox Church at Huron, located in the town of Colburn.
The bride’s father escorted her to the altar, which was decorated with candelabra and bouquets of white gladioli and chrysanthemums.
She chose a floor length gown of nylon net over satin, with a Chantilly lace over satin bodice. It was styled with a mandarin collar, and a full skirt fashioned with panels of lace. Her veil was of imported silk illusion edged in lace. She carried a white prayer book with red sweetheart roses.
Miss Audrey Breitzman, Menomonie, niece of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a floor length gown of shrimp colored crystalette, styled with a portrait neckline and pleated Bertha effect extending to for cap sleeves. The bouffant skirt was made with three full gathered tiers.
Mrs. Glen Springer of Barron, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. She wore a cotillion blue gown styled like that of the maid of honor. The bridal attendants wore matching tiara headdresses, each with a scalloped edge and a circular veil scattered with seed pearls. They carried cascade bouquets of shrimp and blue carnations.
Best man was Nick Cigan of Milwaukee, the groom’s brother, and groomsman was Pete Cigan of Jim Falls, another brother.
Ushers were Donald Sloboda of Appleton and Dr. Glen Springer of Barron.
The groom’s mother wore a gray suit with black accessories and had a corsage of pink roses.
A dinner was served for about 100 guests at Koolmo’s Dining Hall at Gilman, followed by a wedding dance. A reception was held in the afternoon at the Union Town Hall.
The couple took a wedding trip through the eastern states and Florida. They will farm at Route 1, Gilman, starting in December.
