Miss Lillian Chase, a teacher in the school district three miles west of this village, had the misfortune to freeze all of her toes on both of her feet.  She was on her way to this village and left her home, which is eight miles south of Greenwood, at about 4 o’clock Saturday morning. She and a younger sister were to drive to Greenwood where she was going to go on the train to come here.  The road was badly drifted and at times she was forced to leave the cutter so that they could get through the snow.  She knew that her feet were cold, but she did not known that they were frozen until she got to this village, when they began
