Fisher, Michael (24 Jan 1840 - 11 Jan
1912)
Michael Fisher was born in Jefferson,
Wis., Jan. 24, 1840, and died at his home in this city Jan.
11th, 1912. He grew to manhood at Jefferson and
was united in marriage on Sept. 26, 1869, to Matilda Shoop.
They resided in Jefferson until June 1, 1872, when they came to
Clark county and lived on their farm in town of Grant until June
15, 1905, when they came to Neillsville, which has ever since been
their home. Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Fisher,
eight of whom, with their mother, survive their father. The
children are Mrs. Maggie Bishop, Mrs. Mattie Clinton and Joseph
Fisher of Centralia, Wash., Spencer Fisher of Great Falls, Mont.;
Mrs. Aggie Rodman, John, George, and Harvey Fisher of
Neillsville. He is also survived by four brothers, two
sisters, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His
brothers and sisters are John of Salem, Ore.; George of Jefferson,
Wis.; Joseph of Rockford, Ill.; Mrs. Lennie Schuld of Milwaukee and
William of Ft. Atkinson.
During Mr. Fisher’s residence in Clark county he made many life-long friends, especially in this city. He was a man of the very highest integrity, thoroughly honest and painstaking in all his dealings and reliable and industrious. His cheerful demeanor and ready aid made him indispensable to many and his death is a matter of sincere regret to all his friends here. Mr. Fisher was buried Monday afternoon, services being held in the Methodist church and being conducted by Rev. Prucia.
