Bris Bois, Joseph (? - 1 Feb
1912)
Following is an obituary of Joseph Bris
Bois, for many years a resident of this city and who had many good
friends in this city. The Wausau Record-Herald said of
him:
Joseph Bris Bois, a well known citizen of
Wausau, was called to his reward Thursday after an illness of two
months. He had not been in the best of health for several
years past, but managed to be up and around up to two months ago,
when his condition became such that he was compelled to take to his
bed. He was a well liked man and had a host of friends who
will regret to learn of his demise.
Mr. Bris Bois was a native of France, his birth place being in Paris. When a boy his parents left that country and came to Canada, settling down in Montreal. When he had grown to young manhood he left home for Neillsville, and after a few years of residence there, where he was married to his surviving widow in 1873, he and his wife moved to Wausau thirty years ago. He was a stationary engineer by occupation and followed that trade up to about five years ago, when failing health compelled him to give up steady work. Besides his widow he is mourned by two daughters, Misses Hattie and Eulalie, both of Wausau.
