Stevens, Charles (1912)
Last week a deal was consummated whereby Charles Stevens purchased the old Trogner saw and planing mill from Adolph Hemp. Mr. Stevens is overhauling the machinery and in about ten days expects to start the saw mill with custom work and later do all kinds of planing, mill work and special sash and door work. Mr. Stevens is a practical mill man and has a thorough knowledge of wood working machinery. He was an employee at the old furniture factory and has a very valuable experience in this business, which he expects to later make use of in the manufacture of a line of furniture. It would seem that Mr. Stevens’ purchase of the mill is a fortunate one for Neillsville, in that it possible presages the establishment of another industry here.
