Kammerer, Anton (14 February 1871 - 6 January 1957)  
 

Anton Kammerer, 85, of Route 1, Neillsville, died Sunday morning at his farm home of old age complications. He had been in ill health since suffering a stroke a year and a half ago. 
 

Mr. Kammerer was born February 14, 1871, in Hungary.  He grew to manhood there and in 1894 was married to Katherine Keller.  They continued to live in Hungary until 1907, when they came to the United States, settling in Chicago.  After a short time they moved to Des Plaines, Ill., and in 1934 they moved onto their present farm in the Town of Pine Valley.  Mr. Kammerer was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Neillsville.  
 

Surviving are the following children: Anton Kammerer, Jr., Chicago; George Kammerer, Des Plaines, Ill.; Joseph Kammerer, on the home farm; and Mrs. Glenn (Mary) White, Neillsville.  Six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.  
 

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning from St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Fr. Peter J. Leketas officiated.  Burial was made in the parish cemetery. 
 

A general rosary service was read Tuesday evening at the Bergemann Funeral Home.

A requiem high Mass was read January 9 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church for Anton Kammerer, 85. The Rev. Fr. Peter J. Leketas officiated, and burial was made in the parish cemetery. 
 

Pallbearers were: Anton Erpenbach, Frank Miller, Robert Opelt, Leo Pflughoeft, James Votava and Thomas Yndogliato. 
 

Those from out of town attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Anton Kammerer, Jr., Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. George Kammerer, Des Plaines, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schmidt and son, Lake Forest, Ill.
