Cram, Ernest Glen (28 October 1902 - 9
February 1957)
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Bergemann Funeral Home for Ernest Glen Cram, 54, of Neillsville, who died Saturday following a heart attack while working on the Felix Straskowski farm at R 2 Thorp.
Mr. Cram had been working in the hay mow
of the barn when the seizure took place. He was found by the
Straskowski’s son. He had been employed there for only
about two weeks.
Services were conducted by the Rev.
Virgil Holmes of the First Methodist Church and burial was made in
the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mr. Cram was born October 28, 1902, in
the Town of Mentor. He went to the Humbird School, and then
worked for a time in Milwaukee before coming to Neillsville.
On December 5, 1923, he was married to Antonia Hardi, who
survives.
Also surviving are five children: Ernest
of Oshkosh; Mrs. Marlen (Clara) Bartz of Franksville; Richard of
Neillsville; Mrs. Floyd (Caroline) Murphy, Milwaukee; and Arthur of
Neillsville; nine grandchildren and two sisters also survive.
The sisters are: Mrs. Leo (Elsie) LaBonnty, and Miss Myrtle
Cram.
Pallbearers were: Herman Schultz, Paul
Schultz, Kenneth Van Gorden, Fred E. Wall, Gilbert Wren and Frank
Zickert. H. Randolph Briggs, accompanied by his daughter,
Sharry, sang two numbers.
Out of town relatives attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Cram and family of Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Milan Bartz and family of Franksville; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Murphy of Milwaukee; and Charles Hardy of Oshkosh.
