Stiemke, Robert (5 May 1873 - February 1957) 
 

Funeral services were conducted Saturday for Robert Stiemke, 83, from St. John’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. Alfred Schewe, pastor, officiated.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.  
 

Mr. Stiemke died at the Milwaukee General Hospital.  He had made his home since May, 1956, with his daughter, Mrs. Sophia Alexander. 
 

He was born May 5, 1873, in Milwaukee, and had been a resident of Clark County since 1918. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at Neillsville.  On June 16, 1898, he was married to Sophia Opperman at Oconomowoc. 
 

The following children survive: Clarence Stiemke, Tomah; Mrs. Richard (Lydia) Baer, Land of Lakes, Fla.; Henry Stiemke, Neillsville; Mrs. Hilda Olson, Mrs. Sophia Alexander, Mrs. Esther Schiderer and John Stiemke, all of Milwaukee; and Alfred Stiemke of Lakeland, Fla.; and twelve grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. 
 

Pallbearers were: William and Charles Lueck, Leo Pflughoeft, Anton Meihak, Louie Embke and William Milbreit. Those from away here for the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Stiemke, Oconomowoc; and Mr. and Mrs. Orin Janke, Humbird.
