Davis, David (29 August 1881 - 27 February 1957) 
 

David Davis, 75, a former resident of Clark County, died February 27, in Jefferson, where he had been in a nursing home for some time.  Funeral services were held Saturday at Lake Mills, the Congregational pastor of that city presiding.  The Moose Lodge, of which Mr. Davis was a member, had a part in the service.  Burial was made at Athens. 
 

Mr. Davis, son of Jerry and Mary (Jones) Davis, was born August 29, 1881, at Fond du Lac where he lived until he was 17, when his family moved to Clark county and settled on a farm in the Town of York.  He worked in Iowa for a time, later went to Jefferson County.  He was married there to May Hatheway, whose death occurred two years ago.  Mr. Davis was a farmer and for several years was a tree trimmer.  He had been in poor health since suffering a stroke seven years ago.  he was a member of the Congregational Church. 
 

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Leo (Ruth) Wollin and Mrs. Ruby Steffen both of Watertown; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Jesse (Belle) Mortimer of Neillsville; and two brothers, Jay Davis of Neillsville and Merton Davis of (missing information).
