Mabie, Cheryl Ann (Marriage - 16 March
1957)
Miss Cheryl Ann Mabie, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Milo Mabie of Neillsville, and James Earl Holt, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Earl Holt of Greenwood, were married at 2:30 p.m.
Saturday, March 16, in the Congregational Church,
Neillsville. The double ring service was performed by the
Rev. Frank B. Harcey, pastor, before an altar banked with floral
bouquets. One hundred and 50 guests attended.
The bride, who was given in marriage by
her father, was attired in a full length gown of ruffled white
French illusion lace, over a full skirt of taffeta. The
bodice also made of French illusion lace, buttoned up the back and
was topped with a double Peter Pan collar. The sleeves were full
length and came to points on the back of the hands. They were
trimmed with tiny pearl buttons at the wrists. A finger-tip
illusion veil, edged with French lace and attached to a tiara head
piece of rhinestones and pearls, completed her costume. Her
flowers were a cascade of red roses and white hyacinths.
The bride was attended by Mrs. Robert
Wilsmann of Neillsville sister of the groom, as matron of
honor. Her bridesmaids were her sister, Miss Mary Jean Mabie,
and Miss Joan Meinholdt, a friend, also of Neillsville. The
attendants wore identical gowns of pink, and each carried a
colonial bouquet of pink and white flowers.
Robert Wilsmann of Neillsville,
brother-in-law of the groom, served as best man. Richard
Holt, brother of the groom, and Rodger Northup of Rockford, Ill.,
served as groomsmen. Ushers were Jack Tibbett, Jr., and Gale
Gall, both of Neillsville.
Miss Sarah Albrecht, a friend of the
bride, sang two solos, "The Lord’s Prayer and "Oh Promise
Me," accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.
A reception was held at the American
Legion Hall for 109 guests. The hall was decorated in pink and
white to match the costumes of the bride’s
attendants.
