Bartelt, William E. (17 August 1932 - 5
April 1957)
Funeral services were held in Kaukauna
Monday for William E. Bartelt, 24, a former resident of Greenwood
who was killed instantly Friday when a milk truck he was driving
went out of control and rolled over, throwing him out and rolling
on him.
Mr. Bartelt, was born here August 17,
1932, and attended Greenwood High School for three years before
entering the service in 1948. Shortly after his release from
duty in 1953 he went to Kaukauna, where he was employed by a diary
as a mil hauler. On December 18, 1953, he was married to Patricia
Armstrong at Kaukauna.
He is survived by his wife and three
children: Judith Lee, 2 ½ years, and twins, William
Thomas and Barbara Sue, six months. Two brothers, Robert of
Greenwood and Douglas of Kaukauna, the paternal grandfather,
William Bartelt of Greenwood, and the maternal grandmother, Mrs.
Grace West of Neillsville also survive.
Attending the funeral from here was: Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Bartelt, William Bartelt, Sr., James Sonderegger
and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hohl.
The rites were conducted by the Rev. Paul Stevens. Burial was made in the Union Cemetery there.
